Knowledge & Courage (#004)

#004 – Knowledge & Courage

Knowledge and courage are the elements of greatness. They give immortality because they are immortal. Each is as much as he knows, and the wise can do anything. A man without knowledge, a world without light. Wisdom and strength, eyes and hands. Knowledge without courage is sterile.

The two elements of knowledge and courage will be what you are known for as a coach.  These two will shape your legacy.  It is not just about how much knowledge you obtain, but how much you pass on.  Will you have the courage to speak the truth and do the right thing when needed?  Having knowledge without courage is, as Balthasar put it, sterile.  Learning and obtaining information means nothing if you do not have the courage to use it.

This blog series is based on the book “The Art of Worldly Wisdom” by Balthasar Gracián.  This book was written for advice on how to achieve personal and professional success.  The goal of this blog series is to visit the points of wisdom and put them in the spotlight of the coaching and education lens.
